For Students

The Department of Earth Science and Geography's curriculum combines the insights of the natural and social sciences. Geography brings a spatial analysis of human environmental change, while Earth science contributes a knowledge of the diverse natural processes that shape the Earth's surface. Together these distinctive yet complementary fields elucidate the physical limitations and potentials, uses and misuses of the Earth's natural resources. The department offers a concentration and a correlate sequence in each discipline as well as two interdisciplinary majors, Earth science and society and geography-anthropology.
